Using The Anemone & other Stamps

I used this stamp as a poppy in November (top row) but now I have used different colouring and cut outs to create other effects. I have also used the stencils referred to last time

and then I tried the stencils with other stamps & the oats on their own.

Mixed techniques for January

In looking at what was available fir January's workshops I have used some new thin stencils and a fairy stamp from creative expressions. I decided I would mix the techniques on most of these cards so that in many of the cards we use the stencils for backgrounds, stamps for main image and die cut images with oval dies etc.

but then if you don't like fairies I used similar ideas with other solid stamps we still have for sale

Crackers

I havw also been busy doing crackers. These can be straightfoward (I have learnt that it isn't worth too much trouble with some family members) or elaborate (good for enclosing special presents) or somewhere in between depending on who and what for

Other lanterns

I decided to use the bauble frame for

a lantern box this year. Whilst it is larger than I usually do I do love this die and the effect of the lights behind.

The top shelf shows the lanterns done in the last 3 years

The pyramid die

Having purchased this new pyramid die from JND I have used it for boxes, lanterns, hanging decorations and cards. I tried it with different backgrounds - parchment for lanterns, glitter card for boxes etc.

Christmas Specials

I have looked at using some of the stamps and dies we have used this season to create special cards for the family. These can be reproduced in December's workshops.

Tuesday 1 November 2022

Stencils with paste and mica

As mentioned, these stencils had paste applied first, then mica powders. The choice is then to heat or not depending on whether you want a bumpy or smooth effect.

November's Die cutting

This month I have used two dies from creative expressions - the christmas pudding and the robin scene.

The robin has various backgrounds with alcohol inks and kitchen foil, usually used for stained glass effects.

Stamping in November

Stamping for this month started with the novelty reindeer head which I tried cutting in different ways.

I then moved onto the scenic stamps, using them with different dies for frames. The next choice was the Anamone stamp which I pretended was a poppy for Remembrance in November .

The bauble stamp and DL nativity were from last years' stamps but I have similar ones for sale so I thought I'd include them

Saturday 1 October 2022

Stencils and Masks with glitter pastes

For this month's stencilling I decided to use various types of glitter paste. I used both metal and plastic stencils and masks.

Wednesday 28 September 2022

Using some new dies from JND

As you can see I had a great time paying with these new dies and had to stop myself trying more ideas and move onto stamping..

Sunday 25 September 2022

Stamping for October workshops

The first stamp I used was a new one from creative expressions involving penquins.

I had another new lovely stamp in the shop that was a solid stamp. Since I have a few of this type of stamp I used my old ones to show the differences obtained by using either coloured inks and clear powder or coloured powders.

As you can see I tried a number of variations and didn't put them all into cards

Friday 2 September 2022

Novelty Mug Stamping

Once again I thought these could be used for Christmas or other cards. They can have faces or not, cream topping or not. I then tried different products for the toppings including fluffy stuff, flock, pearly stuff etc. I also used different products to colour the mugs and different backgrounds.

SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER 2022

Hi Everyone

Hope you are all well and after a nice summer that you are getting ready to start crafting again.

I have been planning for the Christmas season. Both creative expressions and crafts too have been showing new designs during June, July & August and I’ve bought some bits ready to try out.

I have also been looking at some of the discounted dies I bought last month and how to use them so hopefully I can inspire you to buy as some customers have done already.

As usual if you are making a special journey please ring first to check I’m open.

I know times are difficult for many at the moment but I am afraid that I will have to put up the price of workshops to help pay for increased expenses and heating costs. Workshops have been at their current level for many years now and I should have put them up before to meet expenses. The new cost will therefore be £6 per hour. I will still give discount of your purchases at the workshop so if you spend a lot you can get the increase back. (As an interim offer if you come this month and no heating is required, I will charge £5 per hour)

Backgrounds with Papercuts and other dies

Knowing September is a time when some people want to start Christmas cards and others don't I thought if we looked at different backgrounds we can produce and then they can be used with either Christmas papercuts or others.

I have used sprays (different sorts), gilding polishes, pixie powders, inks, gilding flakes, glitter & micro beads plus our waste build up sheets.

and just a couple of spares ...

Saturday 27 August 2022

Stencils and Sprays

September's use of stencils revolves around using them with sprays to get a positive and negative image.

We used this idea on a workshop this week and you can see customer variations on my facebook page

"LLindas Greetings Cards & Crafts Accessories"

Different sorts of spray were used to compare results - hence the 2 similar swirls.

Die Cuts that go with the Countryside theme

These are mainly papercuts. The horse was a new die, the hummingbird we had last year and the thistle is an old die but new to us. I have looked at colouring images with simple backgrounds  and keeping plain images against a prepared background ( Pixie powders & my clean up sheets).

Thursday 28 July 2022

Countryside stamping

I decided to use "Things we see in the countryside" as a theme for August.

The Country Lane house stamp I have done in various ways- black ink, brown ink, different coloured ink & different coloured embossing powders. This was so that we could compare different effects.

I then looked at some other stamps we have used in the past ( I still have the gate for sale so that features a lot) and I also looked at combining gate with the new country lane house.

Stencils

This month I have looked at pasting large stencils and then using the pasted image with embossing powders

This time I used crackle paste over the pasted image

Not a large stencil this time but double pasted again. This time with translucent paste over yellow matt paste which had been coloured.

Sunday 24 July 2022

Embossing Powder Pictures

I was recently asked about a picture on display which has scenes made from embossing powders so I thought I'd include them in August Workshop Ideas. Original Ideas came from Fran @ Stampendous. They are a good way of using up old embossing powders although I start with a clear UTEE base.

Those above I have put onto cards but the other bits I had left I have displayed on the canvas borad below

and I also put magnets on the back of some pieces so that they can be used as fridge magnets.

More flowers

Since our gardens are full of flowers I felt I had to do some more. It was also a chance to try out some of the newer flowers dies we have in.

Stamped flowers were shown recently

new flower cards....

which when combined with some earlier examples for the board give....

Flowers have been made with foam and card.

Let's Revisit - Media Plates & Stencils

ON looking at what we should revisit this month I decided on the media plates since they go well with the flowers on our garden theme for the month.

The stencil use this month was for colouring our stencils with glitter on an adhesive sheet.

Trees in our garden

I looked at using this die after being inspired to reuse it by a friend who sent me the blue butterfly card for my birthday, I then found the black and white one which |I love. Ok we won't find these trees in the garden but the die itself went with the monthly theme.

More die cutting to follow when I do some more with our flower dies, although there are the samples from February also.

Things we find in the garden - Gnomes & Bees stamping

I used woodware stamps of garden gnomes plus various floral stamps as well as the Bee stamp for these cards
