A Winter Village

I was looking at how to use the tando creative houses I have on the shelf in the shop and wondering what to do. I remembered I'd seen  a village done at the show where I decided to buy these so set about trying to create one. It still needs some finishing ouches and perhaps more houses but this is where I am at so far

Two different views - as I say - it is a work in progress but the houses could be part of the December greyboard workshop

Stencils

These are a few of the stencil ideas we have used in Christmas workshops this season

Techniques include embossing paste in various ways as well as machine embossing and then colouring. I also tried using metallic gilding polishes in 2 ways for the centre top card

what can we do with1 die

Here are a couple of boards with various ideas on using one die.
I have used the star frame on one set and the birch trees on another - just to show some versatility

to make sure we can get our money's worth

Stamping with more Woodware stamps

Well since I haven't been busy with customers I had to open two new stamps I had on the shelf didn't I???? and then play with them again  using different products that we sell.
Loved these baubles which I have done with inks. media plates and gilding polishes

All of the poinsettias were done with pixie powders in different ways

and then there was the snowman.....

I was told I ought to have a facebook page for my business - something I've never been interested in before but I went ahead at the weekend (with the help of my future daughter in law) so you may find more to interest you there. I called it " LLindas cards and crafts" rather than my full shop title "LLindas Greetings Cards and Craft Accessories" which always seems a mouthful but this may have been a mistake as I see here are lots more Lindas cards etc. about. SO remember the double L. Don't know if I can change it - will have to see...

Book covers from a workshop

I recently had a family to do the bookcovers similar to the tando creative package I'd used but they just wanted to cover cheap notebooks they had purchased.
My examples include my kit book and my handmade book .

Then the next pictures are of the book covers done by the girls using these techniques on their books

they did a good job and we covered loads of techniques that they could use elsewhere.

I will do this as part of one of the mixed media type workshops in December if anyone else is interested. (Note -  It took 2x2hr workshops to complete these)

Uing Media Plates & Press to Impress

I've been carried away with stamping at the moment and using these new products from John Lockwood and Crafts too. Great for quick cards as some of my samples show - or I've done similar designs mounted - better but not so good for mass production.
I used these with the last creative stamping magazine also so more examples are there and my extra stamping for winter scenes will include a lot of these.
It's just a great chance to play......

Christmas stamping with Wooware and other stamps

Many of these cards are on the themed boards but I have added extras

The Woodware PEACE and NATIVITY stamps have been  great for using with various backgrounds.
Some were stamped onto pixie powder or metallic gilding polish backgrounds. Others used assorted inks either colour cloud, chalk cloud, distress or oxide inks

The robin in a frame was from creative expressions and has a corresponding die. As usual I tried using these in a variety of ways

On the winter scenes theme I used stams from woodware, stampendous and creative expressions,Plus the John Lockwood Media plates - great when you need to stamp off the edge or don't want too many layers of card for postage! More on these to follow.....

CS49 Christmas Sparkle

I've had the magazine stamps in early this time - the magazine is due out on 12th Oct.. I also had in last week the Press to Impress and the Media plates from John Next door, so I thought I ought to try playing with all 3 items at once. These are the results of my initial play...

and then since photo above not brilliant here are a few close ups

CS48 Away in a Manger

Here are a few ideas for using the last creative stamping magazine stamps. We have sold out of this magazine but you can still come to workshops and use mine. As usual I have used inkpads. metallic gilding polishes, pixie powders etc. on the cards.

A Traditional Christmas v1

Again more to add later but here's the start.....

Mainly Robins and Poinsettias from creative expressions used here but a few other bits with the dreamweaver stencils. I want to find a nice poinsettia stamp to add to it. I have loads but none I can get hold of to sell at the moment.

Monday 25 September 2017

The true meaning of Christmas

Again stamping from Woodware using all sorts of products on the backgrounds, Angel and wise men dies are from creative expressions and a dreamweaver stencil.

Thursday 21 September 2017

Stained glass dies

We used the creative expressions stained glass dies in the summer but I have tried doing other techniques with the Christmas ones. For those not wanting to do all Christmas  I have included both boards

I have used pixie powders, metallic gilding polishes, glitter, peel off pens, parchment etc to produce  these cards.

winter scenes - v1

I have just noticed how long it has been since I last posted anything. August was spent playing with new products for Christmas as they came in and the putting them into workshop possibilities.  I have done the boards as themes which cover stamping, die cutting and stencils but technique workshops will  take  that technique from each board. They are labelled as version 1 at the moment since I will be doing more on each as the weeks progress. A few ideas may have been seen last year until I have time to do more.
Winter scenes

Use stamps I have for sale, the  new tress die from creative expressions and a couple of stencils that I have tried to use in different ways to last years.

Tuesday 1 August 2017

stencils

This time I have looked at which stencils I have to sell and looking at different ways of using them with new products.
The trio of butterflies was embossed and coloured as usual but then I put glitter kiss over the image. The boat was initially coloured with glitter kiss then background inked afterwards.
Pixie powders provided a background for one of the mushrooms and the black flower.

cs46 - Garden Retreat

I hadn't put this issue down for a workshop initially (although now added a date this week) so I haven't spent as much time preparing the board as I usually do. There are a few ideas for you here though mainly using colour cloud inks and pixie powders

Wednesday 19 July 2017

Creative Stamping 45 - Sprinkled with love

I started these cards before I went on my holidays to North Wales last week, then did  a few more yesterday. We are not doing a full day's workshop this time since not all of my regulars wanted this issue but we are doing a half day next week. That meant I didn't need to produce so many cards as usual.
I have still tried to use different products in the cards though although I must admit the pixie powder one didn't work too well - hence the reason not on a card - must adapt that sometime.  Anyway just a few ideas for your stamps if you purchased this issue

Wednesday 28 June 2017

" Erica" - a woodware stamp

We had one of the latest woodware flowers called ERICA in recently so I had a lovely day playing with it. I used it with colour core inks, pixie powders, metallic gilding polishes etc and could have gone on for amother day but I thought perhaps this was enough

Thursday 22 June 2017

Working with some TAndo Creative products

I bought in some products from tando creative earlier this year. Our craft group tried out the book making kits and had a great time decorating them

A couple of houses from the greyboard sheets that we did as a make and take at the trade show I put onto a painted canvas background.
The 3D house was from a greyboard die cut pack that I made up and decorated. I need to do some more of these to put into a 3D scene
The tag contains a perspective wall from one of Tando's sheets.
Lots more to play with- I'll show the results later

Friday 16 June 2017

Using metal on our cards

Some of these ideas you may have seen before but I have gone through looking for examples on various ways of working with metal. They include using coloured metal sheets, colouring with acrylic paint and with alcohol inks. Plus different wauys of embossing and getting patterns onto the sheets of metal

Friday 9 June 2017

Cards for Men

This is a workshop I always do at this time of year before Father's Day.
I tried out the new Woodware tractor stamp, then used some cars which we have used before but I still had a set to sell so I tried some other ideas. Looking for sports was more difficult and I had to resort to decoupage sheets and peels offs. I needed to do a clock/ time card for my husband so clocks included - the idea for the stepper card was to add a die cut age to the  main area.
The creative stamping magazines add cards with boats and playing cards.

The boots were from last year but it is always a popular card.

Sunday 28 May 2017

CS43 The Sea view Collection

Here are some of the cards done with the latest magazine stamps. using inks, metallic gilding polishes and pixie powders. Glitter kiss was also useful for sand effects etc.

Saturday 13 May 2017

Pixie powders

I have put on the board some old pixie powder ideas but there are also all of those I did with the woodware stamps and there are more on the CS "Enchanted" board. In fact lots of ideas all over the place and I'm doing more all of the time as anyone coming to the workshop will find

Monday 8 May 2017

Butterflies and Dragonflies

This week's project has been looking at various ways for using some of the butterfly dies we have in stock from creative expressions plus some stamps (Woodware and stampendous) and Dreamweaver stencils. As usual lots more I could do but need to move on to another workshop next week. As usual every topic will be revisited later

Tuesday 2 May 2017

CS42 ENCHANTED

Over the last week I have been working on the latest magazine stamps and different ways of using them. You will note I had more ideas with the fairy tale stamps than the playing cards but I met my usual challenge of using all of the stamps somewhere with a couple of small stamp exceptions.

since the easel card didn't show well on full board I have added an extra picture of it.

Saturday 29 April 2017

Essential Rectangles

Essential Rectangles die from Creative expressions cuts frames and card to the sizes of many of our cards A5, 5"x7", A6, A7 plus a few extras. I have been using them a lot as frames. Some  of these are old cards you will have seen before but there are a few new ones and I will be working on more over the next few weeks. I have put these dies with the windows and doors shown last time for workshop purposes.

The shadow box card used small dies from some of these sets rather than the special die for this - this enables more variety and ensures we get the most out  of our dies

Friday 21 April 2017

windows and doors

I have used the window and window box die for these cards from creative expressions. Much inspiration came from Sue Wilson's cards but the patio door was my idea.

These will be put on the die cutting workshop along with ideas using the essential rectangles

Monday 17 April 2017

New Woodware stamps

I have taken 2 flowers from the woodware range and used them different ways with different colouring methods - doodling, brushpens, inkpads, pixie powders, metallic gilding polishes as well  as using different powders for the stamping. There are a number of  pixie powder cards because that was also some prep for the pixie powder workshop.
Some of my inspiration came from the cards seen  on the creative expressions stand at our trade show/catalogue. The double z card was inspired by one  that Jane Gill was demonstrating at the show.

The first workshop on these this this Wednesday if anyone is interested.

Thursday 6 April 2017

Creative stamping and Glitter kiss

I have enjoyed playing with the latest magazine stamps - entitled Ultimate Crafts- with the new Glitter Kiss from cosmic shimmer. Some ideas worked better than others but since we are on a learning curve with Glitter Kiss I have included all samples since they show what happens when you are too heavy handed etc.

The unfinished cards at the bottom were to show different ways with glitter kiss, although some have not shown u as well as hoped. The embossed border on black shiny card shows up much better here
