What can we do with embossing powders?

Here I have gathered together lots of ways I have used embossing powders in the past as inspiration for trying them again with new stamps, stencils and dies.

A few more flowers

Again I looked at using these in different ways. Some used the backgrounds we did last month, others new art deco type dies from JND/Presscut. I also used the stampendous 3D die for flowers in a vase since I still have 2 of these left to sell and of course the stepper idea which is so adaptable and doesn't need a special die.

Hearts & Flowers

Cards with hearts can be useful for many occasions - Valentines, Congratulations,  Engagement, Wedding, Anniversary, With Love, Mother's Day etc. I looked at what dies I already  had and how to use them differently to what I had done before. I also saw the hanging hearts stencil on the shelf and decided to try this in different ways. These are all initial ideas and some need perfecting more but they give ideas.

and then there were these from last year that you may have missed.

Revisiting STAINED GLASS WINDOWS

I was asked about a method I had used on these by a customer just before Christmas so since I still have 3 different dies to sell I thought I'd do another workshop on them. These are old ideas resurrected - I will be doing some more when I go back into the shop, but as you can see lots of different methods can be used with these dies.

BACKGROUNDS

I had a customer say she hadn't done marbling with inks and shaving foam so I thought this would be another idea to resurrect .

Then I thought of using paints on a gel plate - another idea where we need to do lots a t a time

I then found some old cards using these. (I'll do some new ones later but I've not been to the shop the last few weeks with Christmas etc.)

Working with METAL on cards

Inspired by a picture I saw with a metal embellishment in the centre i set about die cutting some metal and colouring with alcohol inks, then setting them in frames.

I also looked up some previous work done with metal using stencils and stamps. There are more samples I just need to sort them out!

Needle felted decorations

To take a break from card making I got into needle felting some gnomes ( I had bought a kit for these whilst on holiday with nothing taken to do). I then tried adjusting the technique  for Santas and a gnome and a tree. Need to work on these a little more but they are a good project to do in the company of others.

Decorations for Christmas

Each year I have used a new die from JND with his box die to produce a lantern cube. This year we hadn't got 2 layers as in the previous 2 years so I put colooured parchment behind instead of acetate which gives a lovely effect.

I have a stack in the shop of the different lanterns done and alongside these I have used different inks to decorate a bottle to put light inside.

and then I decorated a couple of boxes I had cut ready to add small gifts. Plus of course there is the decoration with3 poinsettias on top of the lanterns which could be used for all sorts.
