Seaside Stencilling

 To go with the Beach and Sea theme this month I looked out what stencils I could use. I also used translucent paste - thinking this would be good for the jelly fish - hints of colour added with mica powders. The other 2 scenes were coloured first and then translucent paste applied over the top.

The small scenes were also coloured with embossing powders  and heated.

Under the sea stamping

 This time I used Woodware's Under the Sea stamp collection. Colouring was done with spray inks used in a variety of ways to show if the spray doesn't work they can still be used.

The Beach scene collection

 I have used the beach scene collection from Sue Wilson for these cards. Many of them also have pixie powder backgrounds.

and then I just did one from the under the sea collection. This time I coloured with metallic gilding polishes and used a background made with my sprays.

Revisiting Shrink plastic

 Here I used the new fuzzy sheep to create a fridge magnet. All other samples are old ones I found in my box. I have samples on all colours of shrink plastic but only a few are shown here. Shrink is also good for danglers & jewellery - broaches, earrings etc. You can see the difference in size with the two samples of stamp & shrink .It can also be shaped whilst still hot as with the dragonfly.

Fuzzy Animals

 These stamps are from Jane Gill's collection for creative expressions. A couple are variations on her ideas.

I hope to play with these some more later but here is what I have done so far.

Double Stencil techniques

 Here we look at using one stencil on top of another to create a pattern on a plain stencil - as with animals or to gain a tiling effect. In each case the base layer needs embossing - either with paste or in a machine so higher level for second stencil.

Here are just a few examples - although there are a few other techniques amongst these samples.

Fairies

  Here I have used a new papercuts fairy die alongside an older smaller die. I have used different backgrounds with them. Some diecuts are coloured others plain against fancier background.

Baskets of flowers and eggs

 I have revisited the Easter basket from creative expressions since I have a reduced one still for sale. The basket can be for Easter or we can fill it with flowers for any occasion. Baskets can be flat on card or the die enables you to make an actual basket to fill with mini eggs or other.

Revisiting old dragonfly and butterfly stamps

 I love this old dragonfly stamp from Woodware and the postcard butterfly from stampendous is one I still have for sale in the shop so planning to use it some more

revisiting Fantasy film and fibres

 I was asked about these by a customer so found a few bits I had previously done to make into cards for anyone who wants to try them out on workshops.
